Copper Care & Cleaning

Daily care

Rinse with warm water after every use and wipe dry. Copper reacts with air and moisture, so keeping it dry prevents excess tarnish.

Deep cleaning

Once a week, make a paste of lemon juice and salt (or use a tamarind slice), rub gently over the surface, then rinse and dry. Avoid steel wool or abrasive scrubbers.

Storage

Store in a dry place, away from other metals to avoid scratching. A soft cloth pouch works well for travel pieces.

What to avoid

Never put copper in a dishwasher. Avoid leaving acidic liquids (citrus juice, buttermilk) in the vessel for more than a few hours, and don't use bleach-based cleaners.
